| Abstract |
Racism is examined as a globally integrated contemporary reality using Russia as a case study. Tha author focuses on racism's ties to the history of capitalism and colonialism. In Russia, blacks, Jews, and Muslims have been blamed for hampering integration into the capitalist economy since the 1991 collapse of the USSR. The everyday forms of racism are also described. Implications for antiracist movements are addressed. |
