Abstract The author argues that the Serb-Albanian conflict is not an ethnic, but an "ethnified" social conflict. It is a conflict between the majority (opting for isolation) and the minority (opting for separatism) while both sides choose irredentism, i.e. the achievement of pan-ideas (Greater Serbia and Greater Albania).
