The multiethnic list is a new initiative of the LGI Managing Multiethnic Communities Project (MMCP). It is aimed at serving as a clearing-house of information on news and events, publications, innovative policy initiatives and research activities relevant to ethnic relations, multicultural politics, conflict prevention in multiethnic communities of Central and Eastern Europe, Southeastern Europe and the Newly Independent States.

Although the list is moderated, subscriptions and postings are open to anyone. Therefore, we encourage all of you to use this list as a tool of sharing information with subscribers. Please post announcements about

• conferences, meetings, workshops

• research initiatives, academic programs or trainings you participate in

• interesting articles, books, reports you have read recently

• call for papers and proposals

• interesting Internet resources

• good practices or innovative initiatives related to local management of multiethnic communities (participation and representation of minorities, education of minorities, use of mother tongue, socio-economic empowering of minorities, implementation of minority rights, accommodation of refugees and IDPs, protection of culture and identity of minorities, media for minorities…etc.)

The language of communication is English but you are also welcome to post information in regional languages if you provide an English language summary of it.
